Describe Melody's extreme range of emotions as she tries to tell her mother that Penny is behind the car. How did the scene make you feel?
One Book, One City for Kids is an annual reading program that encourages all 5th graders in the city to read and discuss the same book. The program also strives to encourage a lifelong love of reading among students, to inspire readers to bring story ideas and themes to life through discussion, and to build collaborative ties between public libraries, school libraries, and area schools. This year the entire city will be reading Out of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper.
It was sad because Melody was trying to tell her mom that Penny was behind the car. Also it was sad because Melody didn't go to Washington D.C. and Penny got sick also Butterschoch.

ReplyDeleteI think that Melody’s emotions ranged from anger to frustration to worry. She wanted her mom to stop because Penny was under the car. Melody was having a tornado explosion to tell her mom that Penny was under the car. When her mom hit Penny she screamed as loud as she could, so the police,ambulance and the firefighters would come to her house

ReplyDeleteso i... i don,t know were to start um i feel so sad for melody because penny and all this stuff on her. and her mom just was not feeling good and she is in pain and so much is happening its so much to think like oh my gosh.and the author is so amazing and he or she is just so great i love how melody was very brave and MELODY YOU ARE SO GREAT AND YOU SOUND LIKE YOU ARE BRAVE!!!!!! I LOVE THIS BOOK

ReplyDeleteI really like this book it is so fantastic and amazing. I think the author of this book did a really great job making this book. And I really felt like I was in the the story. And the characters in the book are so amazing. My most favorite part in the book was when Melody's mom got so angry that she handed Mrs.Billups a five dollar bill and snapped the CD in half.
