Why do people make sacrifices for others?
One Book, One City for Kids is an annual reading program that encourages all 5th graders in the city to read and discuss the same book. The program also strives to encourage a lifelong love of reading among students, to inspire readers to bring story ideas and themes to life through discussion, and to build collaborative ties between public libraries, school libraries, and area schools. This year the entire city will be reading Out of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper.

ReplyDeleteMelody wishes she can be like other kids and have fun like other kids. Melody is brave, smart, nice, and intelligent like a teacher. Melody has a lazy eye but that doesn't take her down from being brave. Melody has cerebral palsy and it does not bring her down she is always happy like normal kids. Melody has a photographic memory and she can remember a lot of stuff like when she was a baby she kept dropping a stuffed animal.

Melody is the one who mostly does sacrifices because she need to control her self and plus she cant talk or walk.She is the only one who cant do anything and other lids can do what she cant do.

ReplyDeleteI think that people make sacrifices for people that are needing something concerning food, shelter, warmth (especially in the winter). I learned that some people make sacrifices to go to school like a lot of people want to got to college so they save up from all of their hard work like having 4 or 5 jobs in the summer to make up the money for college.

Like when Melody's mom makes a lot of sacrifices because she loves Melody and believes in her that she can do things more than just sit there doing nothing.That's why I think people make sacrifices for others.

ReplyDeleteBecause melody was a shy person so they are not going to show melody because she was shy and the fish was another important character so the author decided to put the fish on the cover instead off melody.
