Analyze Melody's complicated feelings about her little sister.
One Book, One City for Kids is an annual reading program that encourages all 5th graders in the city to read and discuss the same book. The program also strives to encourage a lifelong love of reading among students, to inspire readers to bring story ideas and themes to life through discussion, and to build collaborative ties between public libraries, school libraries, and area schools. This year the entire city will be reading Out of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper.
I think she feels happy

ReplyDeleteI think Melody felt jealous of Penny because she talked about how they were always recording her. Finally they were recording Melody for the first time talking, in chapter 15. But I found some jealousy in Chapter 14 because Rose was only giving Penny affection. I think another feeling towards her was love. She claims she is adorable. She also gets agitated like when she was tapping the keys on the computer she said it made her a bit mad. That’s how I think Melody feels about Penny.

ReplyDeleteMelody is happy & jealous because Penny can walk and talk. Penny gets videos of her when she does things and Melody doesn’t. Melody wishes she could do what Penny can do.
I think Melody thinks sometimes Penny is cute, and sometimes she thinks she is annoying .

DeleteMelody's complicated feeling were that she was glad to have a sister and to be an older one,but the only thing is Melody is kind of jelous because her sister can talk and walk by the age of like one or two but she can't at the age of 10 or 11.

ReplyDeleteHer feelings for her new baby sister are not so good. She wished and probably still wishes that she had never existed. I don't really remember because I finished the book in October, but I do know remember that she didn't want her mom to have Melody but she couldn't tell her mom because I don't think she had Elvira yet. She wished that she was the only child because she was worried that Penny would be just like Melody and because Penny cried too much at night time. That is what I think about how Melody feels about Penny.

ReplyDeletePenny is a nice and funny little toddler she loves to wear fancy hats she has a stuffed animal named doodle. At first Melody was jealous of penny because she was afraid that her mom and dad would give penny attention then her.Melody also didn't like Penny because she thought that she was annoying because she accidentally spilled her orange juice on melody. But when Melodys mom 🚘 over Penny she thought differently about Penny.

ReplyDeleteI feel bad about Melody's sister her mom accidentally ran her over Penny went under the car then her mom started the car and backed up then went forward then melody saw and acted up so her would seemwhats wrong but it was too late she got hurt🚑🤕
