Write a question for the author, Sharon Draper.
One Book, One City for Kids is an annual reading program that encourages all 5th graders in the city to read and discuss the same book. The program also strives to encourage a lifelong love of reading among students, to inspire readers to bring story ideas and themes to life through discussion, and to build collaborative ties between public libraries, school libraries, and area schools. This year the entire city will be reading Out of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper.

Why would you make this story about someone with disability's you could make a book without a person with disability's and still call it out of my mind?

And I picked this question because I want to know where or how you got inspired to write a story about a disabled person. And I like that you wrote a story about a person with disabilities because your telling us how they would feel or their point of view.
