Describe Mrs. V. What role does she play in Melody's development? Why is she a necessary addition to Melody's life?
One Book, One City for Kids is an annual reading program that encourages all 5th graders in the city to read and discuss the same book. The program also strives to encourage a lifelong love of reading among students, to inspire readers to bring story ideas and themes to life through discussion, and to build collaborative ties between public libraries, school libraries, and area schools. This year the entire city will be reading Out of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper.
I think that she is a teacher.

She told Melody how to get back in her chair when she falls out and added new words to her board. So I think she is a necessary addition in her life if Mrs. V was not in her life she’d be stuck staring at the green shag carpet every time she fell and would not learn new words. For Melody being able to roll over, Get back in her chair or say new things well point at new words. That’s why I think Mrs.V is a necessary addition.

Melody thought no one knew she could understand them but when Mrs.V said "you can turn over yourself melody I know you understand every word i say to you, and i know you can do this now role!" it changed Melody's opinion.

She taught Melody how to fall over by her self and use her strength to git a toy she liked. Later she took her outside and she told her that the names of all the clouds in the raining sky. "Big old nimbus up there he's black and powerful and can blow all the other clouds out of the sky. He he wants to marry miss Cumulus cloud. But she's too soft and pretty to to be bothered with suck a scary guy. So he gets mad and makes storms."
ReplyDeleteMs.V is more like Melody's mom to me because she learns stuff from her do stuff with her and let her have opportunities and she help her spell talk and let her drink pop and i don't know if Melody thinks this but I'm guessing ms.V is Melody favorite teacher bu if i was Melody than I would say that Ms.V is my favorite teacher and one thing i know about Ms.V is that she is a really good teacher and by the way she treats Melody I can tell she loves kids.

She likes to help, and she likes to fix problems, she even likes to have a little fun... think think think, does Mrs.V remind you of a sub? Anyway Mrs.V is helpful and I will tell you exactly what she said, but before I say anything this is what had happened. She screamed and screeched and yelled and cried. So Mrs.V said,"look at how your lying. You're already on your side-halfway there. Use all that screaming and hollering energy you have to take another position concentrate!" she is really caring and she is her own self she does not have to be like anyone else because she believes in melody and that is what she needs.

Mrs.V is very nice, and wears long flowing dresses. She has to wear them, because she is tall. She likes colorful things, because she says that color brings hope to these children. Mrs.V plays an important role in Melody’s development. If Mrs.V didn’t help Melody she might not be where she is today. If Mrs.V didn’t push Melody to her limits she would not learn to roll over. ReplyDeleteI think that Ms.V is a big factor of Melody's life and also one of the key reasons why melody wants to wake up everyday. She is not only a helper but she is a lover in melody’s life. If Ms. V didn't help melody,Melody might not be as successful as the “normal” kids. So Ms.V is like family to Melody. Stocking Elementary School.

Mrs.V. is a necessary addition to Melody’s life because she teaches Melody new words, but she promise’s Melody that she would write every fish species and afterward she was going to teach Melody all of the fish. I think Ms.V is with Melody because melody’s parents have to go to work and she can’t take care of herself so Ms.V helps her. Ms.V teaches Melody movements like when she told melody to roll over melody took a long time to roll over but she did. What Ms.V does while Melody is at her house is showing and telling Melody how to do new things.

ReplyDeleteIf Mrs.v wasn't in Melody's life ,Melody wouldn't be able to experience things or, if she was on her back and could turn over she would be stuck there. Melody need to try new things and do things on her own . Mrs. v teach her how to sit up in her wheelchair if her seat belt wasn't fasten. I think Mrs.V was a big help.
ReplyDeleteI think Mrs.v is a necessary addition for Melody because if Melody did not have Mrs.v to help her then Melody would not be as capable as she is now.When Melody was younger than she is now Mrs.v would push her to succeed on moving around like rolling over or crawling.And the way Mrs.v pushed Melody I don`t think nobody would have pushed Melody to succeed like Mrs.v.

In this story out of my mind Mrs.V plays the role Melody's neighbor Mrs.Violet Valencia.I think Mrs.V is a big part of Melody's life because she taught her how to be prepared to fall without getting hurt.Mrs.V also treats Melody like she would to any regular kid because when Melody was brought from the hospital.Mrs.V was the third person to hold her also Mrs.V treated her like a normal baby.

ReplyDelete6. Mrs. V plays a special role in Melodys growth and development. Melody spends most of her time at Mrs. Vs house next door and helps her during tough times. For example, in Out of My Mind, Melody starts visiting Mrs. V when she was three years old. Mrs. V motivates Melody to do things herself without assistance that way she can become stronger with her disability. For example, in chapter 6, Melody gets angry when she couldn’t place herself back in position, Mrs. V starts cheering for her and saying positive things to get her back were she needs to be. Mrs V. might be hard on Melody, but she helps her figure out her challenges. When Melody would come over to see Mrs. V she would teach her all sorts of subject for her to keep fresh for school. She practices with her facts to know for the whiz quiz team.
