How does Melody's computer change her life, her outlook, and her potential? Why does she name it Elvira?
One Book, One City for Kids is an annual reading program that encourages all 5th graders in the city to read and discuss the same book. The program also strives to encourage a lifelong love of reading among students, to inspire readers to bring story ideas and themes to life through discussion, and to build collaborative ties between public libraries, school libraries, and area schools. This year the entire city will be reading Out of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper.
The computer help her because she can do test,homework,and talk to her Rose.
ReplyDeleteMelody's computer changes her life because before she got the computer she couldn't talk but now she can because all she has to do is type what she wants to say instead of the board where she just point's to what ever she wants to say.

ReplyDeleteI think that it is sad that Melody has to have somebody help her eat, in chapter 22 Melody can't eat the pizza that Rose's parents bought for the quiz team. Also, Melody is sad because she can't have any of the pizza because, Catherine isn't there to help her.

The way that the Medi-talker changed Melody's life is by her being able to communicate with her friends and family.Another way that that the Medi-talker changed Melody's life is her being able to say what she truly think's about people and the things she wasn't able to say!

The medi-talker didn't really change her life because many kids at Melody's school still act and talk to her the same way.And when I mean the same, I mean all the kids are still mean to her.What did change is the fact that Melody can now tell her teacher things that she needs but way better than before with her communication board.Last of all Melody can now tell her parents how much she loves them like when she first told them,"I love you mom, I love dad."

Elvira Melody's medi-talker changed Melody's life by letting her talk for the first time in her life.Now she can answer all the answers to Mr.Dimming and talk back to Molly and Claire, the mean girls.She can also talk to Rose and tell her how she feels.Melody is going to be a normal kid that talks.

Also it changed her life because she can now talk and be able to answer some questions in school. Melody named her Medi-talker Elvira because she is in love with the song called Elvira so that's why she called her Medi-talker Elvira.

I think Elvira,( The computer ) changed Melody's life because now she can prove to the class that she has knowledge, all the words stuck on her head has now gotten out of Elvira. Now she can say stuff to her parents that she never had a chance to say. Now she can join the Wiz Quiz team, like she wanted. She named her Medi Elvira from the song she liked.

DeleteIt changed her life because Melody saw Rose with a computer so Melody asked Catherine for a computer like Rose's computer so Melody got a Medi-Talker for her to speak and learn and named it Elvira by a song she liked.Melody also brings it to school for the quiz test because she wanted to try it out but when she won the candy bar everybody just stared at her looking disappointed.Now she can speak to her family and friends also Mrs.V,Penny,and everyone else she knows.
