OLLIE THE FISH
January 5, 2017
What is significant about the story of Ollie the Fish? How does Ollie's life mirror Melody's?
ollie the fish's life is signifigant to melodys because he was probaly didnt want to be in the bowl and finally jumped out like melody could not talk and finally she could let the words out
mrs.v. is her neighbor and she is her teacher in her school for a long time it was just her and her mom and dad and ollie the goldfish before he had died she was five years old when they got ollie the goldfish they had him for 2 years.
ollie the fish life is significant to melody life because when she was little ollie she her pet fish and one he probably didn't want to be in the bowl so he jumped out and landed on the floor and melody tried to help but she couldn't talk she she yelled and her mom thought it was her fought he died but it wasn't and she tried to tell her mom that he jumped out keniya@coit
The significant about the Ollie the fish is that Melody can relate to Ollie because in the middle of the night Melody wakes up and Ollie was still swimming, with his little mouth opening and closing like he was trying to say something. I found my answer chapter 8 page 62 paragraph 2 sentence 4. It says but anytime i woke up in the middle of the night, Ollie was still swimming, he little mouth opening and closing like he was trying to say something. Melody can relate to Ollie because Melody has lots of lots of words in her head but cant tell or say what she is trying to say.
The significant part of the of Ollie the fish is that they both can relate to each other. When Ollie hurled out the bowl, it reminded us of the time that Melody went out of her mind. This information is in paragraph 6 and sentence 3. This means that Melody can relate to Ollie.
Whats significant about Ollie's life is that he can relate to Melody's life because when Ollie jumped out of the bowl he was flopping like how Melody has tornado explosions. It says in the 7th paragraph, chapter 8, sentence 6. That Ollie seemed to flop a little less for a second or two. This means Ollie's life was significant. Ollie's life mirrors Melody's life because when Melody woke up in the middle of the night Ollie was opening and closing his mouth trying to say something just like Melody trying to say something. It says this in the chapter 8, paragraph 2, sentence 4. That any time I woke up in the middle of the night, Ollie was still swimming opening and closing his mouth trying to say something. This means Ollie's life mirrors Melody's.
ollie mirrors melody by he needs water melody needs medicals they both cant talk the cant walk sometimes they are diffrent but they are kind of the same because they both need special needs
Melody's life mirrors Ollie's because they both have a lot of things alike ,for example they both can not express their feelings neither of them can get around by themselves. They both flip and flop around. I read this in chapter 8 ,and it shows how significant Ollie is to Melody .It makes Melody feel less alone in the world.
Ollie's life is significant to Melody because Ollie and Melody both need people to take care of them. In chapter 8 Melody says, "There is no way for me to explain to Mom what had happened." Melody isn't able to communicate and neither was Ollie. Ollie and Melody are a lot alike because they both need the help of other people.
the fish gets out of the bowl and melody falls off her seat and her dog goes scratch melody's mom's door and her mom got so scaerd she gave the dog a big thanks by going the scratch her door so she can know that she fell off her seat and her mom blamed melody and melody tried to tell her that she didn't kill the dog and she screch and kickid
Melody liked Ollie because she has someone to reason with. They are significant because they both need help doing stuff and they can't do it on their own.
Ollie life is significant to melody's because they both can't talk and they both needs be supervised. Ollie is Melody's mirror because Melody and him can't talk and they both can't get up by there own self they both needs somebody to help them.
It is significant cause Ollie was always in the fish tank just like Melody in her wheelchair Ollie was a fish who could not talk *cause fish cant talk duh* Melody cant talk and she hated that she could not talk. * I bet Ollie hated it too* so the fish is like her in a way. But in chapter 8 Ollie jumps out of his bowl and lands on the ground like Melody falls out of her wheelchair. They both had a connection in a way but Ollie was a little diffrent in looks but action wise there no diffrent.
Ollie was important to melody because before she got a dog that was her best friend because she did not have friends at that time and she was stuck in room H5 because her mom blamed her for killing Ollie,"He'd die without water" Melody said.
Ollie's life is important because he was very special to Melody. Melody tried to save him in chapter 8 on page 63.Melody cried and said "I didn't want my mom to see me cry". Melody said that because Ollie died and her mom blamed her. Melody was very sad until she was 8.
Melody and Ollie are significant because they both need really big help. They also are the same because they both can't talk and walk. I mean Ollie can swim but not walk. Melody thought that Ollie was not happy about being in his fish bowl so she tried to grab the fish bowl and take the fish out but she couldn't grab anything. So instead Ollie jumped out of the fish bowl and landed on the table. Melody screamed for mom but she didn't come so she screamed even louder than before to grab moms attention this time Melody's mom came but she was so freaked out that she was like "what sweetie." Even though Melody couldn't talk her mom still understands her. Melody tried to put water from the fish bowl onto Ollie but Ollie didn't make it on time. Melody blames it on her mom.
Melody and Ollie is the same because when Ollie fell out the fish tank melody could not get Ollie because Melody can not move or Ollie cant just all of Sutton get a miracle and put himself back in the fish tank in the text they said "H lived in a small bowl on the table in my room the bottom of the tank was covered with pink rocks and fake plastic log sat wedged in the rocks" So basically melody was sad talking about Ollie and its the same because Melody,s mom sad talks how Melody was born like that
Ollie was Melody's first fish ever and one day Ollie jumped out of the fish bowl and melody grabbed the fish bowl and dumped the water on to the fish and then she yelled and yelled to try to get her moms focus on her and than she said after the fish died she was so sad she was afraid to cry in front of her mother. So she finally got a dog to keep her company how they are alike is that they both need the same help
Ollie life is like Melody because they both can't do much Ollie can only go up and down and side to side and Melody can only press and point in chapter 8 Melody side '' I feel bad.'' Melody and Ollie need help.
Ollie significant because they both cant walk,or talk and they important to each other because she loves her fish. They both have to get took care of.Ollie lives important because she wanted a pet to have and she's even happy to have a pet. Melody was screeching to try to save Ollie live.I bet he would try to do the same thing.
Ollie is significant because in chapter 8,pg 62 and 63 Ollie was peacefully swimming around his bowl ducking through the plastic log over and over and over when all of the sudden he dived down to the bottom of his fish bowl and swam up quickly and jumped out Melody cupped her hand around the rim of the fish bowl and dumped the water it got all over her, the carpet, the table, and Ollie,"Melody started screaming and yelling she wondered if her mom was outside getting the mail or downstairs,"Ollie and Melody's life are similar because they both need service from other people.
Ollie is important to Melody because when the fish jumped out the cage she tried to help it even when she knew shouldn't have but she did it anyway but she did that is a way that she cared about the fish and also cried when the fish died
Ollie's life mirrors Melody's in ways like, for example, Melody can't go any where accept where her wheel chair is, Ollie can't go anywhere accept his glass bowl. Neither of them can be understood, well I guess Melody can, but not very easily.
He didn't break the surface he went to the bottom of the bowl swim up to the surface and jumped out the bowl Melody screeched and screamed for her Mother. Aniya@Sherwood
Ollie jumped out of the bowl because Ollie felt cooped up in the bowl.Ollie was getting tired of swimming around in the fishbowl so Ollie jumped out.Melody felt cooped up too, nobody can understand her at all.Life for Melody was hard and Ollie felt that nobody understands him too.
she got him when she was five and she had him for 2 years he died because he jumped out of the bowl and melody didn't know what do so she tip the bowl over so he can get some water.
Ollie's life is the same like Melody's because they both can't talk or walk because they are trapped in their own bowl and mind. When Ollie died Melody kind of felt lonely when she was 7 or 8 years old when she was little she got him at a carnival at age 5. Aniya@Sherwood
Ollie the fish life mirrored Melody's life a lot. Melody is trapped in her head because she can't say anything she can't move. its just like Ollie he is trapped inside a bowl. And Melody has to roll in a wheelchair and Ollie has to stay in a fish bowl. Frederick@Sherwood
Ollie's life is inside a bowl, and Melody's life is inside her mind. Ollie and Melody are stuck inside their mind or bowl. Melody goes crazy when she can't explain anything to her mom or others. And Ollie goes crazy going around circles every time in that bowl. Their life is hard. They both lose control.
I think melody would say to her mom that Ollie was swimming around then he jumped out of the bowl. Thats what i Think melody would have said Kaharrie@sherwood
I think that Ollie might have gotten tired of just swimming all over the place, Ollie maybe thought that he could just one chance out of his bowl so then he just jumped out. Melody was very sad when Ollie jumped out because she could'n do anything to help Ollie but when Melody's mom came Melody was even more sad because she couldn't say nothing to her mom.
Ollie has the same personality as Melody. They both can't talk,or walk.Ollie and Melody are stuck with the same thing in there head.We felt when Ollie didn't have any more water in his bowl, he died.
Ollie has the same personality as Melody. They both can't talk,or walk.Ollie and Melody are stuck with the same thing in there head.We felt when Ollie didn't have any more water in his bowl, he died.
Ollie's life and Melody's life are similar because the the way Ollie jumped out of the bowl and the way Melody wants to take all her words out of her head are both similar. Imagin Melody talking and Ollie being with all his friends in the sea, both in their own worlds? So the way they both are the same is: They want freedom. They want to be free from everything, they want to live normally. Banin@Coit Creative Arts Academy
I agree with Eric Grant because Melody couldn't save Ollie's life when needed help because he had jumped out of the bowl. And I think that Melody maybe felt bad because she couldn't grab Ollie and put him the bowl.
olie and Melody are alike because the both can walk they both cant talk and they are both stuck some were like Melody is stuck in a wheel and Olie is stuck in a small glass bole and they both have to be feed by Melody's mom and they both have to be took and care of so they are alike because they have things in comen
That the fish feels like Meldoy because they dont get to go no where and meldoy is stuck in the chair and ollie the fish is stuck in a fish bowl and meldoy she have to get fed and the fish get fed by the mom
They're alike because they both can't talk, the mom has to feed them both and they're both trapped in one place all the time. And they both want to get out.
That Melody feels like Ollie the because Melody and Ollie stay in the same spot.Melody is her wheelchair.Ollie is in a fish. They both can't talk.Ollie and Melody has to be feed by mom
Ollie is significant because Melody life is like Ollie's. Ollie's life mirror's Melody's because they both can't talk. And because they both can't feed themselves.
Ollie and Melody are alike because they both can't do things without help.Melody has to get fed by her mom.Ollie the fish gets food by Melody's mom too. They both are stuck.
They both can't do many things like others. Someone have to feed them they ,can't do it buy there self.Ollie is in a bowl and melody is stuck in a chair they feel traped.
Ollie's life is like a Melody's,because Melody can't do stuff by her self. She can't do it by her self because, they have simularities because Ollie is trapped in a bool and Melody is stuck in a chair so there kind of the same
Ollie the fish want to do more and Melody did to. Ollie jump out the fish bowl trying something new so Melody wonder was Ollie trying to try something new?
ollie wanted to know how it felt like if he went out of his fish bowl so he did it its kind of how melody wanted to talk so when she got the machine to talk she finally jumped out of the fish bowl
How Ollie's life mirrors melody's because it's like they are both stuck in cage where they only have a certain amount of freedom and can't go as far as "fish and people"do like in a ocean or a kid who could run or talk. But they could only stay in Ollie's bowl and in Melody's wheelchair.
The Similarities I have for Ollie and melody is that when they are in a crisis there are things they both can't do like for Ollie cant get back in the water π₯π₯π₯and if Melody falls on the ground she can't get back up her selfπ₯π₯π₯ @coit #hello #awesomness #hello thanks for reading ππππ
Ollies life is similar to melodys life becuse they can't talk to anyone and we he jumps out the bowl he represents melody being able to say things she never said before#karmah gunderson at coit
ollie the fish's life is signifigant to melodys because he was probaly didnt want to be in the bowl and finally jumped out like melody could not talk and finally she could let the words out

Deletewell Ollie the fish and melody life are almost the same they can't walk and they can't talk.
ReplyDeleteShe changed her, fed her, wheeled and taked care of her in school in the 2 grade and the rest of the girls.
ReplyDeleteopps wrong one
ReplyDeleteWhen melody was getting a little older she had a fish named Ollie the fish. Melody loved Ollie, but one day melody hit the table and Ollie died.
ReplyDeleteNo, Ollie jumped out of the bowl.
DeleteTrue he did jumped out of bowl it wasn't Melody's fault she didn't bump the table.
DeleteAniya@Shewrood
True but it wasn't Melody's fault of Ollie jumping out of the bowl.
DeleteOllie was getting tired of being cooped up in that bowl so she decided it would be better if she just jumped out.
ReplyDeleteOllie's life mirrors Melody's in ways like, for example, Melody can't go any where accept where her wheel chair is, Ollie can't go anywhere accept his glass bowl. Neither of them can be understood, well I guess Melody can, but not very easily.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Isaac and I like how you talk about Ollie the fish.
DeleteI agree about the Ollie part not the talking part Jerell.
DeleteAniya@Sherwood
I agree with you.
DeleteOllie must be a good jumper if he can jump out of a fish bowl,
ReplyDeleteit seemed like Ollie jumped out of the fish bowl.
yeah Ollie felt like he had to jump out of the bowl and Melody felt nobody understands her or Ollie she wanted to help but it was to late.
DeleteWell of course he can jump out easily, he used his momentum and speed and then broke through the surface of the water and flew onto the counter.
DeleteI kind of agree with you.
DeleteHe didn't break the surface he went to the bottom of the bowl swim up to the surface and jumped out the bowl Melody screeched and screamed for her Mother.
DeleteAniya@Sherwood
Ollie jumped out of the bowl because Ollie felt cooped up in the bowl.Ollie was getting tired of swimming around in the fishbowl so Ollie jumped out.Melody felt cooped up too, nobody can understand her at all.Life for Melody was hard and Ollie felt that nobody understands him too.
ReplyDeleteI agree Isabelle he did jumped out of the bowl for getting tired of swimming all day and night poor Ollie.

ReplyDeleteshe got him when she was five and she had him for 2 years he died because he jumped out of the bowl and melody didn't know what do so she tip the bowl over so he can get some water.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Ela she did get him at a carnival when she was 5 the he died 2 years later she was upset when he died.
DeleteAniya@Sherwood
There are a lot of figurative language in this book.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you.
DeleteOllie's life is the same like Melody's because they both can't talk or walk because they are trapped in their own bowl and mind. When Ollie died Melody kind of felt lonely when she was 7 or 8 years old when she was little she got him at a carnival at age 5.
ReplyDeleteAniya@Sherwood

ReplyDeleteI agree with you Jiselle that Ollie might have gotten tied of swimming in that bowl all day and every day.
DeleteOllie is kind of like melody because they can not talk they both can move.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you π― Banin
ReplyDeleteI feel bad for melody because when she tried to save ollies life when he jumped out of his bowl he π΅
ReplyDeleteI agree with Eric Grant because Melody couldn't save Ollie's life when needed help because he had jumped out of the bowl. And I think that Melody maybe felt bad because she couldn't grab Ollie and put him the bowl.

ReplyDeleteWhy does Melody love big Macs so much?

DeleteJason @congress I think ollie is a character thats why hes important. melody is the same becouse he wants to get out.
ReplyDeleteMelody feels like Ollie because they both feel trapped.and because they both cant feed their self.
ReplyDeleteThat the fish feels like Meldoy because they dont get to go no where and meldoy is stuck in the chair and ollie the fish is stuck in a fish bowl and meldoy she have to get fed and the fish get fed by the mom

ReplyDeleteThat Melody feels like Ollie the because Melody and Ollie stay in the same spot.Melody is her wheelchair.Ollie is in a fish. They both can't talk.Ollie and Melody has to be feed by mom
ReplyDeleteThe fish and Melody both feel trapped. and both need help to do stuff. Also both have to be fed by mom. Both expect people to help them do stuff.
ReplyDeleteOllie is significant because Melody life is like Ollie's. Ollie's life mirror's Melody's because they both can't talk. And because they both can't feed themselves.
ReplyDeletei agree

DeleteOllie's life is like a Melody's,because Melody can't do stuff by her self. She can't do it by her self because, they have simularities because Ollie is trapped in a bool and Melody is stuck in a chair so there kind of the same
ReplyDeleteOllie the fish want to do more and Melody did to. Ollie jump out the fish bowl trying something new so Melody wonder was Ollie trying to try something new?
ReplyDeleteOllie and Melody are alike in ways. They both can't go anywhere by their self and they both get feed by their mom.
ReplyDeleteThey are alike because Ollie and Melody are both stuck
ReplyDeleteMelody try to save Ollie the Fish when Melody try to save Ollie the fish and Ollie the fish jump out.
ReplyDeleteMelody fish Ollie did not want't to be in a boll so he jump out.I think that Melody feels the same way.
ReplyDeleteollie wanted to know how it felt like if he went out of his fish bowl so he did it its kind of how melody wanted to talk so when she got the machine to talk she finally jumped out of the fish bowl
ReplyDeleteHow Ollie's life mirrors melody's because it's like they are both stuck in cage where they only have a certain amount of freedom and can't go as far as "fish and people"do like in a ocean or a kid who could run or talk. But they could only stay in Ollie's bowl and in Melody's wheelchair.
ReplyDeleteThe Similarities I have for Ollie and melody is that when they are in a crisis there are things they both can't do like for Ollie cant get back in the water π₯π₯π₯and if Melody falls on the ground she can't get back up her selfπ₯π₯π₯
